What I Wore To Disneyland Paris - Spring 2017

If you've been following me on here, or any of my social media, for even a short period of time you will know very well that I'm a massive fan of Disney and the Disney parks. I'm fortunate enough to be an annual pass holder at my nearest park, Disneyland Paris, which means that I'm frequently able to go over and experience the magic. One of the things I love most about going to the parks is how it gives me the opportunity to combine my love for Disney and for fashion and to create looks merging the two together - it's such a  it harkens back to the early days of Disneyland when dressing up in your best clothes was the /only/ way to do a day in the parks. I thought it would be a fun idea for a series to share with you my own personal Disney parks style for different seasons, to allow you a glimpse into the outfits that I've put together and maybe even to give you some inspiration for any trips to the happiest place on earth that you may be planning!

My most recent trip was a couple of weeks ago in mid-April which might possibly be my favourite time of the year to go; every time I've been around this time the weather has always been lovely plus Disneyland Paris really shines in Springtime. This year felt extra special, however, as it was the 25th anniversary of the resort - and the beautiful sunny weather definitely matched how sparkly and joyful everything felt around the park. I was there for four days and without further ado, here is what I wore...

(lilac fluffy jacket - Pretty Little Thing. white tennis skirt - American Apparel, pink converse - TReds, pink bow - made by friend)

If you're part of the Disney community, you will probably be well aware of the idea of Disneybounding as it has become a huge phenomenon over the past few years. For those thinking "Disneywhatnow?", Disneybounding is the idea of putting together an outfit that resembles a Disney character without cosplaying (so through the use of colour blocking, accessories etc). I've attempted a few bounds in the past but my Daisy outfit (featured above) has by far been my biggest success. I wore this look once before on my January trip during a character brunch we had but last month was my first time debuting it on a full park day. Perhaps my biggest tip with Disneybounding is to try and stay true to your personal style while picking pieces which is what I've done here with the fluffy pastel jacket, tennis skirt and pink converse however it still is clearly recognizable as the sassiest duck in Disney canon.  As you can see, it went down a treat with Donald himself who gave me lots of hugs and kisses as well as a cheeky proposal - don't tell the actual Daisy.

(pink pinafore dress - Topshop, white long sleeve top - Boohoo, trainers - Adidas, socks - Disney Store, Marie ears - Disneyland Paris)

Is it obvious from this next outfit who my favourite Disney character is? No, really. Take a wild guess. I'm more than a little bit obsessed with Marie and she's definitely one of the characters I most love dressing inspired by when I go to the parks; I already have a super cute Disneybound idea up my sleeve for the summer. I decided I wanted to go full on Marie Appreciation Club with this look, resulting in me piling on every accessory I had themed to her onto my outfit and probably looking somewhat like a crazy person (confirmed by the confused looks I got trotting through Lille train station wearing it at 10 in the morning). However I felt super adorable and very me - plus Rapunzel complimented me so clearly I was doing something right,

("Weird" crop top - Depop, silver star choker - Forever 21, holographic skirt - Kokopie, white platform boots - Melissa)

As I mentioned earlier on in the post, this trip fell during the 25th anniversary of Disneyland Paris and not only that but I was also there on the actual birthday of the park which was the BEST. EXPERIENCE. EVER. The whole theme of the anniversary was "time to sparkle" and there's nothing I love more than sparkling so I saw no more fitting time to bust out my favourite skirt in the entire world in all it's holographic goodness. I decided to go full on alien/space princess/queen of the stars for the birthday day and teamed the skirt with pastels galore, white chunky boots and my sparkliest Minnie ears. The sun was out too which meant that whenever my skirt caught the light, it would reflect rainbows and sparkle and just look super freaking magical - I felt like a total unicorn and it was wonderful. (Also, can we please talk about how cute all of my friends are?)

(stripe Mickey high neck top - Lazy Oaf, black denim skirt - Monki, hat - Aliexpress)

My final outfit was something that was very different for me, but one that I actually ended up really loving - that's right folks, your girl wore BLACK. I decided to go for a classic Steamboat Willie inspired look with the black and white colour palette topped off with the classic Mickey ear hat and I felt like I'd jumped straight out of the TV screen during a rerun of The Mickey Mouse Club. The top is from the Lazy Oaf x Disney collaboration from last year and it's pretty much the cutest thing ever - I'm totally in love with the little Mickey face embroidered onto the front. I really hope Lazy Oaf and Disney collaborate again in the future because it was basically my wildest dreams come true. I wore this outfit to a character lunch at Inventions on our last day where I was lucky enough to meet the main mouse himself. He made such a big fuss over me and my outfit and I may have got a little emotional. Okay. A lot. IT'S MICKEY MOUSE OKAY GUYS?

So that concludes my little outfit round up.
