It's been a while but I thought I'd bring back one of my favourite types of posts to write (as well as read on other blogs), the monthly recap. I've compiled together some of my favourite memories from the past four weeks via my Instagram page - if you don't already follow me, you can here! After a few tough months both health and motivation-wise, the end of July and August have been pretty wonderful. The weather has been mostly beautiful, my friends are all back from university and both these things combined have led to some really amazing days and nights not just at home but in my favourite city, London. The most recent of these trips to the capital was just last Saturday when me, my best friend Aimee and her boyfriend went in to see the musical In The Heights. Despite insane heat and even more insane train delays, it was a perfect day - we wandered Camden and came across gorgeous pastel houses, had drinks in a Wonderland themed rooftop bar and ate some delicious vegan food. The show was amazing too; we were front and center and level with the stage so we felt fully engaged in the action and heart of the musical. Lin Manuel Miranda is a personal hero of mine and a total genius so I highly recommend seeing it if you have the chance; you'll be singing "Carnaval Del Barrio" for days after. Last Wednesday also held a trip to the city which was mainly spent shopping in Soho, though we took the time to visit the House Of Minalima exhibition on Greek Street as well. The exhibition is held in a tiny shop - it's pretty blink-and-you'll-miss-it - made up of four floors which contain the work of MinaLima, the graphic designers who worked on the Harry Potter films. You'll see actual props and posters used in the movies as well as other art from the design duo - it's well worth a visit for any Harry Potter, or film fan in general. We also visited Yorica, a vegan ice cream parlour and my personal favourite dessert place in Soho. I chose the cookies-and-cream and vanilla flavours with Oreos on top and it was heavenly. Finally I had a lovely day out with my twin sister at the end of last month where we trawled Shoreditch and Brick Lane for vintage, before making our way to Oxford Street. Towards the end of the day we stumbled across the Fenwicks department store on New Bond Street which was covered in this gorgeous and super Instagrammable floral overlay; I had to stop to take a picture of it.
What have you been up to this month? I'd love to hear! Also stay tuned for some new outfit posts coming your way over the coming week, I know it's been a while but I hope they'll be worth the wait. <3
