beret - ASOS
I didn't deliberately set out to put together another outfit inspired by a 90s teen icon, guys, I swear it just kind of happened. When I posted a mirror picture of this look on Twitter the other day two of my friends told me it looked like something that Heather Chandler from the movie/musical Heathers, which now that I think about I do kind of see. And am very pleased with. I genuinely think that "bitchy blonde popular girl from a 90s/early 2000s" is a super strong aesthetic and one that my wardrobe seems to naturally be veering towards lately. Next step: pink cardigans, mini skirts and and white tees with a sassy glitter pink slogan emblazoned across the chest a la Regina George. This outfit also supports my new found love of bold bright primary colours that I talked about in an outfit post recently. Red has always been a colour that I liked (I've been wearing a red lipstick pretty much everyday for three years, for Pete's sake) but for some reason I never bought any clothes in any shade of it, veering towards either pastels or black. But 2016 seems to be the year of me trying new things fashion wise, so I went pretty crazy in American Apparel and bought this outfit which I just adore. I feel like I want to walk in slow motion through my university's student union with a wind machine blowing my hair perfectly and "Bad Reputation" playing in the background. Naturally.
