faux fur jacket - Missguided
long sleeve crop top and plaid circle skirt - American Apparel
beret - ASOS
chunky brogues - Office
silver backpack - Topshop
choker - Depop

Of all the Clueless inspired outfits that I've worn over the years, this may just take the cake for the one most bordering on "Cher Horowitz cosplay". Not that that's ever a bad thing of course, I've waxed lyrical many a time about my love of everyone's favourite Beverly Hills popular girl and her (virtual) wardrobe. Berets seem to be having a bit of a moment again lately and admittedly it's taken me a while to venture beyond my wide brimmed hat safe zone and try one out. But OH MY GOD, I am obsessed. I want one in every colour, embellished variants optional too. There's something about them that makes you feel so bloody sassy and somehow they go with everything too (even if the first time I showed my best friend via Snapchat her reaction was a resounding "you look hilarious". THANKS MATE). Hats are the ultimate accessory when it comes to adding a little extra je ne sais quoi to an outfit - if I ever think I look a bit basic, whacking on some headwear usually makes me feel ten times better. I decided obviously to go super Cher on this particular day, by teeming it with a choker, faux fur and plaid. I swear I don't shop anywhere other than American Apparel for skirts anymore and while their tennis skirts remain my number one, I'm growing pretty fond of the circle style too after receiving this pink and black beauty for Christmas. Though it's been the 60s and 70s that have been really influencing designers and trends during the past number of seasons, I feel like I'll always be very drawn to the 90s aesthetic - maybe it's something about being born in the later part of the era (95 baby over here!) but the decade feels very "me" and has definitely helped to shape my style and taste. What about you, what's "your" style era? I'd love to hear!

I wore this outfit on a day out to London with my lovely mum - going for a potter around South Bank and Covent Garden on a Sunday afternoon is our favourite tradition. Usually we go look at a gallery and stop for a bite to eat at one of the many amazing eateries in the area, today's picking being the much praised Wild Food Cafe in the Neal's Yard section of Seven Dials. I've been experimenting with trying a lot of vegan food lately so it was a great experience trying a totally healthy veggie restaurant and I highly recommend it even to the biggest carnivore!

  23. I'm definitely a 90s aesthetic kinda girl, with the grunge kick of the late 90s (I'm a '97 baby!) filling up my wardrobe most of the time. I'm loving the preppy, sassy look you have on, Cara, and gosh, that beret! I own a white one but can't seem to wear it without looking like a runaway chef. x

And your look is absolutely gorgeous, I love the way you mixed this huge fur jacket with plaid skirt and beret, very eclectic but still cute and still 90s!
