Alice&Cat tights - Romwe
Anyone who knows me well will know that two of my biggest passions (asides from fashion) are literature and Disney. These are magically combined in the beloved animated movie of Carroll's Alice In Wonderland, a story with equal doses of whimsy and heart to keep me happy. These tattoo tights, aptly named due to the illusion they give of ink, feature the original art from the novel and include some of the most iconic imagery associated with Alice's world - the grinning Cheshire cat, a scattering of playing card suits and of course the heroine herself. Tattoos tights are a trend that I've noticed most prominently in East Asian fashion - K-Pop idols and Harajuku street style queens a like are commonly seen rocking them for a kawaii take on a style that is usually more masculine and edgy. Taking a leaf out of these stylish ladies' books I went for the classic girly tough juxtaposition. A white collar peeking out of fitted long sleeved skater dress is undeniably school girl, but the black and white colour scheme makes it moody and grown up. Accessories wise I kept it dramatic with a wide brimmed hat and - be still my heart - chunky black platform boots. I've been on the search for the ideal pair of 90s-tastic booties and these beauties fit the bill perfectly. And despite being four inches high, I can walk in them. RESULT.
In other news, I received the amazing news from my brilliant parents that me and my twin are being treated to a weekend in Paris to celebrate our upcoming 18th birthday. We're leaving at the end of the month on the Friday and will be there until the Sunday. I'm so excited - I can't wait to sample macarons, visit Notre Dame Cathedral (all the Hunchback fangirl feels) and see some of my favourite movie locations in Montmartre. ARGH, I can't wait. Have you guys got any favourite places in Paris that I have to visit? Let me know!
