Another day, another post that begins with me whining about my appearance. But it was cold and wet when I was taking these outfit pictures so can we move on (again)? Thanks. I've been on the hunt for the perfect pair of tartan trousers for ages now and by god I've been picky, I wanted a pair that were fitted but not like jeans and leggings and I envisaged a bold pattern with just red and black. Enter Mango with their triumphant A/W offerings. I've never been a huge fan of the store but after reading a magazine supplement showing the collection modelled by uber babe and my personal girl crush Miranda Kerr, I was sold. This pair are simply perfect, the print is just as vibrant if not more so than it looked on the website and the fit is great (although if you're worried, I'd size up - they're quite snug around the top). I wanted to go for quite an androgynous aesthetic, drawing influence from both the 60s mod movement with the buttoned-to-the-top shirt and tight trousers and punk as seen by the tartan, patent and leather. To make the outfit a bit more feminine, I wore a bowler hat and red lip as well as choosing to carry a more understated and chic bag with details that mirror the colours of the boots and jacket.
I have to say a huge thank you to my lovely friend Aimee who took these photos for me on her camera after I forgot to bring my memory card (typical me!). If you were wondering why the images look a bit different that is the answer - however I absolutely love them!
