Fashion Haul: ASOS, Topshop, Monki and more!02:34
Hey everyone! So it's been a while since I've done a haul post and I've bought quite a lot of things this past month, what with all the S/S 13 trends coming out resulting in loads of shops and websites bringing out amazing new pieces. I've been trying to vary my wardrobe lately as I've been practically living in disco pants, Dr Martens and my cosy parka this winter, so hopefully this haul will be pretty interesting!
I've been on the hunt for a new casual bag for ages as I've sick of hauling my gorgeous but heavy Eastpak backpack around everywhere I go, it's great for school but for shopping? NAH. I was doing some browsing online and I came across this black bowler bag (Topshop, £40). It has shortish handles and a long strap so you can either carry it or wear it across the body. It looks really chic as well, it's mainly leather look with patent panels on the side and a gold buckle, and it goes with everything. I can fit everything in too - very happy!
It's taken me a while to warm to the whole polo neck/high neck style, I have to admit, but after seeing the cropped versions that are around at the moment I definitely am a convert. They look great with high waisted skirts/trousers! I bought this black velvet version (Missguided, £7.99) as it's a bit different to the classic plain crop top - I've included it in an outfit post recently so check it out here if you want to see how I'd style it!
I used to wear plaid/checkered shirts quite a lot when I was younger but I kind of abandoned them after a while. I really love the whole 90s grunge look (not Tumblr's definition...) and this oversized shirt (Hearts & Bows on ASOS, £27.99) just embodies that whole style for me. I've been wearing it to death recently with no shame and I can't wait to wear it with my Levi shorts and docs in summer.
I know, I know, Beetlejuice. I've heard it all before. But I am absolutely in LOVE with these jeans (ASOS, £35), they're totally statement and can completely turn a simple outfit into something all together more jazzy. Plus, the style has been spotted on celebrities such as Miley Cyrus and Cara Delevingne and the Motel version have been featured in Vogue Italia - enough said!
I don't know if it's possible to be in love with an item of clothing but I'm pretty sure I want to marry these dungarees (Monki, £35). They're a light blue denim colour which means they would look great with practically anything underneath and they're going to be perfect for when it gets hotter. HURRY. UP. SUMMER. I WANT TO WEAR MY DUNGAREES.
Last but not least is this blue leather pleated skirt (Romwe, £26.85). I adore the spring metallic trend (how amazing is the Burberry S/S13 collection?!) as the colours are altogether more wearable and pretty than the generic silver and gold that we usually see. I fell head over heels when I saw this skirt while browsing online and I just had to buy it - it'll look great with a baggy black jumper over it during the day but it can be worn with Jeffrey Campbells and a crop top for night.
I'm off to the National Portrait Gallery in Trafalgar Square tomorrow with my parents and I'm really excited, it's my first time going there despite living close to London my whole life. I'll try and take some photos when I'm out and about and hopefully will have a post and an outfit of the day up tomorrow evening!
What's your favourite item that I've bought? Have you purchased any staples for S/S yet?
